About
The Domaine Henri Rebourseau is now managed by one of the great-grandsons of General Jean de Surrel.
The estate vineyards are very much akin to those of Gevrey-Chambertin, a real mosaic of terroirs.
They include 7 hectares of Gevrey-Chambertin on the edge of the family property, Les Fonteny premiers crus (0.88ha) and such rare pearls as
Charmes Chambertin (1.31ha),
Mazis Chambertin (0.96ha),
Chambertin (0.46ha)
and Chambertin Clos De Bèze (0.33ha),
thus equalling the diversity and richness of the Gevrey-Chambertin estate. Especially since the Domaine possesses another jewel of the Côte de Nuit :
the much celebrated Clos de Vougeot (2.21ha).
Our vineyard are favourably located, growing 13 hectares of Pinot Noir and producing wines of real quality, highly representative of the appellations concerned.
The harmony and distinction of our wines are obtained using a combination of traditional techniques and modern equipment. Wines made in this way retain their natural character, reflecting the soil in which they are grown.
The ageing process essential to our wines gives them unrivalled subtlety of taste and aroma.
We produce vins de garde that are ready to drink after five years in the bottle, but which can be kept for more than ten.
