About
Built in the 12th century by the monks of the Abbey of Cîteaux in the heart of the vineyards on the Route des Grands Crus, the Château du Clos de Vougeot today welcomes lovers of history, architecture and wine.
Although the Château du Clos de Vougeot no longer produces wine, it remains the symbol of almost a thousand years of Burgundian history.
An exceptional historic monument, the Château du Clos de Vougeot is the Head of Order of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin.
The tour can be taken on a self-guided basis, using a leaflet available in French, English and German, and touch screens along the way, or as a guided tour by prior arrangement and subject to availability (at 10.30 am, 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm, subject to a supplement of €2 per person), which includes a tour of the Château's old wine-making facilities, the film "Jamais en vain, toujours en vin" (Never in vain, always in wine) about the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin and, on a regular basis, a temporary exhibition.
Self-guided tours depart 1 hour before closing time.
Please note that visits may be shortened or limited if required for the smooth running of a reception at the Château.

- Finally, our cleaning team works daily throughout the Château du Clos de Vougeot following visits.
